How do I register for the competition?

Registration is available online through our website. Visit the registration page, fill out the required information, and complete the payment process. You'll receive a confirmation email with your registration details. Or click here.Register Now

What are the eligibility requirements?

To participate in the Battle of the Budtenders, you must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older to enter
  • Employees of Battle of the Budtenders and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
  • Budtenders must register by August 31th 2025.

Your ID will be required to claim cash prize.

How much does it cost to register?

It depends on the ticket you buy, $25 ($2,500) $10 ($1,000) $5. ($500).

What is the registration deadline?

Registration for event closes on August 31st 2025.

What topics will be covered in the competition?

The majority of questions will consist of questions Budtenders are asked daily. The rest of the questions will come from the topics listed below.:

  • Cannabis strains, terpenes, and cannabinoids
  • General cannabis regulations and compliance
  • Product knowledge and identification
  • Customer service and recommendation skills
  • Dosing and safety information
How is the competition structured?

The competition consists of five rounds with a 2-minute break between each round:

  1. The Rounds: Each round is up to 90 seconds long with 10 questions either multiple choice or True/False. Players must finish in the top 50% to advance to the next round.
  2. Final Round: The top two players from the 4th round advance to the fifth round where they answer 10 questions in 2 minutes. The winner receives a cash prize based on how much they paid for there ticket and the BUD MASTER Championship belt.
How many participants advance to the final round?

The top 2 individual participants will advance to the final round. No matter how many participants enter the game, there will only be two at the end of the fourth round.

Do I need to prepare or study for the competition?

You can always brush up on your cannabis knowledge. We select questions that budtenders are commonly asked by customers. There is no study guide available at the moment.

There will be a practice mode included in the near future.

What prizes are available for winner?

Prizes include:

  • The Champion receives:

    If you purchase a $25 ticket you're eligible to win $2,500

    If you purchase a $10 ticket you're eligible to win $1,000.

    If you purchase a $5 ticket you're eligible to win $500.

Are there any non-cash prizes or benefits?

Yes, in addition to cash prizes, winner will receive:

  • Industry recognition as a top cannabis professional and (Bud Master Belt).
  • Social Media & Podcast coverage.
  • Networking opportunities with industry leaders
How do team registrations work?

Dispensaries can register teams of up to 3 teams, with three budtenders each to represent their establishment. Each team member will complete the preliminary round individually, and the team's score will be calculated based on the total points of all team members.

For the final round, teams will compete together, with different team members potentially handling different aspects of the challenges.

Can I participate as both an individual and as part of a team?

Yes, team members are automatically entered into the individual competition as well. This means you could potentially win both individual and team awards.

What are the benefits of registering as a team?

Team registration includes several benefits:

  • Cost savings compared to individual registrations
  • Brand visibility for your dispensary throughout the competition
  • Team-specific prizes and recognition
  • Promotional opportunities for your dispensary
  • Team-building experience for your staff
Can I become a Member

Yes memberships will be offered in the coming months.

Some of the Membership benefits will include free entry to BOTB events, access to private parties, concert tickets, celebrity meet and greets, free entry into BOTB contest.

Is there a dress code?

There is no strict dress code.

Can I consume cannabis during the competition?

No, at the moment you can not consume cannabis for our indoor events. Outdoor events are another story... SMOKE UP before, during and after for all we care. Upon recieving our consumption license we'll be allowed.

How do I register for the competition?

What are the eligibility requirements?

  • BOTB or CannaGroup 180 employees and their immediate relatives are not eligible to enter and neither are their relatives.
  • Complete the registration process and purchase your ticket before August 31st 2025.

Player will have to show ID to collect the prize.

Yes, we recommend studying and refreshing your knowledge in all the topic areas mentioned above. While your day-to-day experience as a budtender will be valuable, the competition will test the depth and breadth of your cannabis knowledge.

We'll provide registered participants with a study guide outlining the key areas to focus on, but we won't provide specific questions in advance.
